Voluntary Commitment for classification of textile auxiliaries to their relevance to waters

In 1997 the association TEGEWA presented a "Voluntary Commitment for classification of textile auxiliaries to their relevance to waters" to the German BMU (Federal Ministry for the Environment). This initiative contains the commitment to advise member companies to voluntarily classify the textile auxiliaries produced and sold in Germany according to the “Abwasser Relevanz Stufen (ARS)” – waste water relevant classes - as follows

ARS I

minor relevance to waste water

ARS II

relevant to waste water

ARS III

major relevanceto waste water

Priority had been to trigger a positive trend on the use of environmentally compatible products. This goal had been achieved; the use of products with major relevance to waste water has decreased significantly. You will find more detailed information in the document below.
